As the title goes, this is a very "art." Japanese animation has already come to this level.
Some people may associate animation with childish men, but it is a terrible misconception.
You watch this movie, and you will be impressed.
You must "watch" this book, not "read" it.
Director Miyazaki says, at the beginning of this book, "the world of film can have a striking influence by fulfilling the traditional functions, as a piece of a vividly colored mosaic, to a story witch can be applied today.
That means, at the same time, we can gain a new understanding of what it means to the resident of this island country."
It is not too far to say that Japanese art lies not in the superficial main culture but in the popular subculture - like this movie.

Sakura and her friends really are cute!
I strongly recommend this comic to English-speaking girls.
In Western countries, comics for girls (not only for girls in fact) are not developed enough,
so such comics are rare.
They will certainly enjoy this comic!
These comics are important not only to make the Japanese culture understood
but also make Japanese people happily learn the daily English.
