創業以来タンニンなめしの革を使い続け、手縫いもミシンによるステッチワークも寸分の狂いなく緻密に行われるいたがきの製品は使うほどに艶や風合いが増し、自然と手に馴染み、まるでその人に寄り添うかのように変化していきます。丈夫で長持ちする素材の良さを最大限に生かし、革を知り尽くした作り手の技術を駆使して、時代を越えて愛されるシンプルで美しいものづくりを目指しています。

素材のこだわり「タンニンなめし革」。時間をかけてなめされるタンニンなめし革は時を経て土に還る環境にやさしい天然素材です。タンニンなめしは太古の昔から行われていた技術で、植物から抽出した渋(タンニン)を使用して約2か月の歳月をかけてじっくりなめす方法です。仕上がった革は収縮が少なく堅牢で、使うほどに馴染、深い色合いに変化するのが特徴です。

Tannin tanning is a technique that has been practiced since ancient times, using tannin extracted from plants to slowly tan leather over a period of about two months. The finished leather is robust with little shrinkage, and the more it is used, the more it becomes accustomed to its surroundings and changes to a deeper shade of color.
