Chemistry can provide all citizens with essential information, including such as how to properly preserve the earth environment. Chemistry education consists of two components, one is to get students to acquire the established theories and facts based on fundamental resources and the other is to get them to deeply understand their knowledge through laboratory practices.
One of the authors was involved in improving chemistry education in Cambodia and recognized the difficulties and productivities of carrying out laboratory practices in developing countries. This book was created with the dual purpose of inspiring young students, including students in developing countries: to get skilled with laboratory practices and to develop English ability through learning chemistry. This book is usable in high school as well as university.

- 略歴
- Toshihiko SONOBE taught chemistry for 36 years at public high schools in Gifu, Japan. He was given The Chemical Society of Japan Award for Merit of Chemical Education for 2003.
Fumio KAWAIZUMI was a professor at Graduate School of Engineering ,Nagoya University, Japan. His major is physical chemistry and fundamentals of chemical engineering. He earned The Chemical Society of Japan Award for Chemical Education for 2001.
