アートフォルム 斧折樺 ARTFORME ONOOREKAMBA
ニューヨークにある MADミュージアムショップのショーウィンドウを飾り、5番街のKITON社で販売されたクラフト品を提案いたします。日本で一番堅いといわれる樹木「斧折樺・オノオレカンバ」を使用して「美しい木の道具をつくり続けています。非常に珍しい木材で、一年に0.2ミリ程しか育たない故、硬くて丈夫であり加工には高い技術と時間がかかります。曲線の美しさと使いやすさ、絶対のかたちを追及してグッドデザイン賞を受賞、NHKイッピンなどのメディアで紹介されています。1Fイベントスペース
We are pleased to propose craft items that adorn the show window of the MAD Museum Shop in New York City and were sold at KITON, Inc. on Fifth Avenue. KITON continues to make “beautiful wooden tools” using the hardest tree in Japan, Onoolekamba, which is very rare and grows only 0.2 mm per year. It is a very rare wood that grows only about 0.2 mm per year, so it is hard and strong, and processing it requires a high level of skill and time. The beauty of its curves, ease of use, and absolute form have earned it the Good Design Award, and it has been featured in media outlets such as NHK's Ippin.
